Paris Feb 07
I lived in Paris as a child, left when I was 9 years old and only went back as a young adult. When I returned, I took the metro to “Opera” and came out on the “Place de l’Opera”- anybody who has been there as a tourist will concede that it is a mesmerising place! I then strolled towards Place Vendome, the Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde etc- I was taken by the beauty, the harmony, the grandeur! Paris is all about grandeur, grandeur, GRANDEUR (perhaps making it a more pleasant place to visit than live)! A few years later I was to return to Paris regularly- in fact for about 18 months I lived between London and Paris, taking the Eurostar practically every week-end- unfortunately it was before discovering my passion for photography... to my regret, I never took any pictures then. I went back for the first time since acquiring my SLR camera in February 2007…but felt frustrated more than anything else…I realised I would need at least a couple of weeks, if not months, to take all the pictures I wanted to take…I could sit patiently on the place Vendome for several hours waiting for the perfect light, the perfect moment to catch…I will have to go again… and pay tribute to the place where I grew up as a child, to the place of grandeur, to the gardens of the enlightment…until I have the opportunity to go back to what I consider the most elegant city in the world, you will find in this gallery a mere visual appetizer…
