Rome May 06

If walking down 5th avenue, amongst the skyscrapers, one feels insignificant to the scale of human power, walking up the hills of Rome, amongst history’s legacy, one feels insignificant to the scale of time- making Rome a city of modest grandeur, humble splendour, unpresumptuous magnificence.

At the door of history, time stands still. Amidst Rome’s a-temporal village atmosphere, Globalization and Terrorism seem so “contemporary”, so remote, so outdated. In such a timeless place, breathing history, one is left facing man’s ephemeral nature and it is little wonder that the arts are to Rome what Finance is to London.

I hope the pictures in this gallery pay tribute to this proud yet humble city
